Lokobe Special Park

Wooden pirogue ride, forest, village, sacred tree

We start with a slow drive by car from Hell-ville to a local village on the east coast of the island (approximately 45min drive). Upon arrival we change our tour transportation onboard pirogues. Pirogue is the local boat made out of one tree with neither roof nor sails. We paddle approx.40mn along the cost with one local guide on each boat can help out.

After a small break on the seaside, we continue our way through the jungle and walk approximately 02 hours for discovering the fascinating beauty of the lush semi tropical forest which is home of a great variety of animals like the world smallest chameleon, gecko, snake… and many endemic plant life.

For lunch or refreshment we return at a small village by the beach where you try delicious classic Malagasy food.

After you have time to walk around the village for some shopping of local hand crafts

On our way back we make a short stopover holy tree that is about thousands years old
